You’ve had your session. Now you’re starving. Raglan has you covered — the food scene here is genuinely good for a small town, and most of the best spots are within five minutes of rinsing off. Here’s where to go depending on how hungry you are and how much effort you want to put in.
If you want something fast – Raglan Roast Food Department
Sitting just over the one-way bridge, the Food Department is your first stop coming back from the beach — you’ll drive straight past it on the way in from Manu Bay and Whale Bay. They pour the same quality Raglan Roast coffee you’ll find in town. Cabinet food, sandwiches and burger round it out — quick, easy and perfectly placed.
If you want a pie on the go – Raglan Bakery
Open from 7am and one of the first places you can eat after an early session. Around two dozen pie varieties made fresh every morning — steak and cheese, Mexican, Cambodian curry and more. Grab one warm from the cabinet and eat it on the walk back to your car.

If you want to sit down with coffee — The Shack or Rock-It Kitchen
The Shack is a Raglan institution serving fresh breakfast and lunch with locally-sourced ingredients — the kind of place that does the basics extremely well. Rock-It Kitchen sits ideally between the township and the world-famous surf breaks, set in a repurposed wool shed with a sun-soaked deck overlooking rolling green hills. Either works for a proper post-surf decompression.
If you want sushi — Aloha Sushi
Quick, fresh, and right on Wallis Street. Rolled to order rather than sitting in a cabinet — exactly what you want when you’re hungry and don’t want to wait long. Open most days from 10am.

When the surf was good and you want to celebrate properly. Orca Eatery has harbour views and a menu that runs from casual lunch through to hearty dinner — but the Harbour View Hotel is your best bet if you’re after a cold beer alongside your food, with a lively bar and an award-winning restaurant under one roof.
