Raglan’s Waterfront Restaurant Since 2009
Orca sits right on the inner harbour at 2 Wallis Street — one of the best-positioned restaurants in Raglan, with views across the water to the harbour mouth where the sun sets most evenings. It’s been part of the Raglan dining scene for over fifteen years, operating out of a building that has been hosting guests since 1953.
ABOUT
- What makes Orca work is its range. During the day it runs as a relaxed café and eatery — good for a coffee, a casual lunch or a long brunch with the family. Come evening it shifts into a proper restaurant and bar, with a menu built around fresh, seasonal ingredients from local Raglan and Waikato suppliers. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming rather than formal, and the team under Head Chef Joewi has developed a loyal following for the quality of the dinner service.
- The bar side is worth knowing about too — local craft beer from Workshop Brewing Co and Good George on tap, a solid cocktail list, and a wine selection that goes beyond the usual. Bookings are recommended for dinner, especially on Friday and Saturday nights.
